Welcome to Lakeside Seikido

The Lakeside Seikido Club is an integral part of the World Seikido School of Self Defense. Under supervision of Master Doug Gagel and Master Zeke Petkovic, both 7th Dan, the Seikido organization has grown since it’s founding in 1987 to nine schools in London and nearby communities. All instructors are qualified black belts, some with over twenty years of experience.Lakeside Seikido

The Lakeside Seikido Club will serve the community. The student fees are kept low, so everyone can enjoy this art. The Lakeside Seikido Club will use any funds raised on space rental, equipment purchases and club events, as well as donations in support of other needy organizations.

Seikido is a relatively new martial art based upon modern Tae Kwon Do and Aikido techniques, both of which are based upon older martial arts, including Japanese Shotokan Karate and Jujitsu.

Tae Kwon Do has for centuries been an integral part of Korean society, its culture and heritage. It is also a martial art, practiced on military training fields, in school gymnasiums as well as private schools. The founder of modern Tae Kwon Do is General Choi Hong Hi, who now lives in Toronto, Canada.

Aikido is a non-aggressive self-defense method with grappling and throwing techniques intended to control the aggressor without injuring the opponent or yourself.
